If You Can’t Write It Down, You Can’t Have It
Oct 22, 2025If you can’t sit down right now and write clearly and simply this is what I want, then chances are, you’re not going to get it.
Not because you’re not capable.
But because your mind can’t help you chase something that doesn’t exist in words.
The mind’s job is to create coherence. To match what you believe with what you experience. It fills in the gaps between thoughts and reality. But only if you give it something specific to work with.
If you believe “this probably won’t work,” your mind gets to work proving you right. It finds the patterns, makes the links, and creates situations that make it not work. And that all feels justified because it confirms what you believed in the first place.
But the opposite is also true.
If you believe, really believe, “this is going to work,” your mind starts building towards that version of reality. It shifts how you show up. You ask better questions. You take bolder steps. You spot possibilities that you’d otherwise overlook.
And at some point, that’s when you realise it wasn’t chance. It wasn’t luck. It was you.
It was your clarity. Your creativity. Your choice to back yourself before the evidence appeared.
And when you really understand that, something even bigger clicks into place:
We’re not just participants in our lives. We’re creators.
If you’re a leader or coach who wants support turning belief into action — or helping your team do the same — let’s talk.
